During this wonderful bike ride you will breathe in the salty sea air while your hair dances in the wind. You first drive past beautiful nature reserves that are lined with capital villas and country estates. The route continues through the Amsterdam Water Supply Dunes, an area of 3,400 hectares through which fifty million cubic meters of drinking water flows every year. Enjoy the song of the nightingale and/or a butterfly fluttering with you as you cycle along the dunes. If you want to see more than a sand lizard, you should put the bike aside and go for a walk. There is a good chance that you will come face to face with a fallow deer. The area has the largest fallow deer population in the Netherlands per hectare; that amounts to approximately 2000 fallow deer in total! You cycle through this wonderful area to Noordwijkerhout where you start the return journey along the bulb fields in a colorful way.
