Noordwijk: The very best addresses for 24 hours by the sea
Holistik's editor-in-chief Evelyn spent 24 hours in Noordwijk, together with her boyfriend Bas and puppy Toby she collected the most charming addresses.
Sleeping in a chalet
Noordwijk has many beautiful hotels but because a trip with dog Toby is also great fun, Bas and I decided to spend the night at De Duinpan. This is a campsite where you can also rent chalets. If you travel with a dog, this is highly recommended. Our chalet had its own little garden by the water, enough space for Toby's crate and there were even dog treats waiting for him.
Tip: De Duinpan also has a wellness chalet with a rain shower (with Sunshower), an enclosed garden with jacuzzi and wonderfully soft Beds.

Have a bite at Bij de Duinen
Right next to De Duinpan is restaurant Bij de Duinen. Have a bite to eat here for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Tip: order the american pancakes with fig compote, the banana bread with coconut rind or the Greek yoghurt with granola and fresh fruit. The perfect start to a long walk on one of the most beautiful beaches in the Netherlands.

Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin
When you say Noordwijk, you think of Huis ter Duin. A visit to the coastal town is not complete without seeing this iconic five-star hotel with your own eyes. Grand HotelHuis ter Duin opened its doors in 1885 and has built an impressive reputation ever since.
You can visit MC Wellness, the hotel's day spa, even if you are not staying at the hotel. The same goes for Breakers Beach House, Huis ter Duin's beach pavilion.

Beachclub Bries
Bries is well worth a visit. What a nice beach bar! What I do not have in many Dutch beach bars, I did have here: an instant holiday feeling. We had dinner there in the evening, when Bries is lit in a super atmospheric way. Bries is also a lovely place to have breakfast or lunch during the day.

Shopping in de Hoofdstraat
Okay, okay... you obviously don't go to the beach to shop. But do dive into the Hoofdstraat after your walk on the beach. This street is a stone's throw away from the beach and you will find all kinds of cute boutiques and concept stores such as Poush Conceptstores (lots of earrings!), Atelier aan Zee and Huis aan Zee. Don't miss pastry shop Huize van Wely and treat yourself to a royal pastry. Van Wely is a purveyor to the royal household and you can taste it.
Tip: treat yourself to a ‘red square’: an almond biscuit with a layer of white chocolate mousse and currant cream. Not cheap but probably the best cake you will ever eat

Want to take an even deeper breath of the fresh sea air? Book a breathwork session with Marieke van Duin of Pak je Kans. Marieke is a breathwork and movement coach and knows all about the beneficial effect of breathing on your health.
During a session, Marieke teaches you to become more aware of your breathing. An analysis is followed by a coaching session in which you determine the goal of the breathwork session together. After this you will be introduced to ‘connected breathing’, which involves abdominal, diaphragmatic and chest breathing. With the Balance-Breathing technique Marieke applies, you lovingly move through all layers of your emotions.
