Beach & nature in Noordwijk
Noordwijk is surrounded by beautiful nature with dune and forest areas. It's close to various major cities yet offers plenty of space, tranquility, and untouched nature. You can wander for kilometers through the dunes towards Coepel Dunes near Katwijk, Noord Dunes near Zandvoort, or Langeveld near Noordwijkerhout.
Nearby are the Amsterdam Water Supply Dunes with a visitor center and a beautifully restored old pumping station. In addition to the dunes, there are forest areas such as those around Landgoed Leeuwenhorst, located in the municipality of Noordwijkerhout and mostly managed by Zuid-Hollands Landschap.
The Beaches along the Boulevards
In Noordwijk aan Zee, there are various beaches: the North and South Boulevard. For a lively beach atmosphere, visit the beach at Koningin Wilhelmina Boulevard. Relax on a sun lounger at one of the trendy beach clubs or enjoy a snack or drink on the terrace. You can also enjoy the most beautiful sunsets with a cocktail in hand at the beach of Koningin Astrid Boulevard.
Discover the beach clubsThe Beaches Duindamseslag and Langevelderslag
Due to their location, these beaches have a completely different atmosphere. Upon arrival, you'll encounter not a bustling boulevard but pure nature. The beach accesses are surrounded by nature, dunes, and tranquility.
Duindamseslag is only accessible via a walking/cycling path through the dunes. This beach is popular among those seeking peace and families who bring blankets and snacks. Prefer to relax on a terrace? Then visit the beach pavilion De Zeespiegel, where you can enjoy lunch, drinks, dinner, or just a cup of coffee.
The northernmost beach is Langevelderslag. On the way to the beach, you may encounter grazing deer. Here you'll find the beach pavilion St(r)andplaats Nederzandt, accessible by car, where you can enjoy delicious food, drinks, and beautiful views.
Tip: Children will have lots of fun at the lookout tower or at the Nederzandt playground. Difficulty walking? No problem! There's a beach wheelchair available, and there's a charging station for electric bicycles.
Beach Reserve Noordvoort
If you're looking for peace on the beach, discover the first Dutch beach reserve, Noordvoort, a quiet beach section between Zandvoort and Noordwijk (between pole 70 and 73).
It's a unique rest area on the beach where visitors are invited to take a 3 km walk through the foredunes with three beautiful viewpoints. Noordvoort offers a sanctuary for seals and numerous bird species and restores the dynamics and natural values of the foredune.
